Americana, Roots Rock, New Grass

The music of Magnolia Express swirls around guitar, banjo, and fiddle. The band is driven by sweet stand-up bass along with driving percussion. It’s the kind of music that the stays in your head.

Our music is good time music. We’re known for our high energy performances, original music, and unique interpretations of rock, Grateful Dead, and “feel good old time" music.

We play americana/jamgrass music. It’s an acoustic “sonic stew” of country, gospel, bluegrass, and roots styles of music and it’ll make you smile.

Formed in 2019, the band came together- musicians from several genres-rock, bluegrass, funk, country and jamgrass. We unplugged from the amps and were off to the races.

Building upon a mutual love for outlaw country, mountain music, improvisation and a love of all things Grateful Dead, the music evolved. Playing cover music then evolved to writing and performing original music- americana/jamgrass music.
