Japancakes

Japancakes is an indie rock band from Athens, Georgia, founded by guitarist Eric Berg with an experimental concept inspired by minimalist music. After debuting with If I Could See Dallas in 1999, the group solidified its lineup for The Sleepy Strange and Belmondo, blending pedal steel, cello, and keyboards into lush, instrumental soundscapes. Their discography includes a reinterpretation of Loveless by My Bloody Valentine, showcasing their ambient and post-rock sensibilities.
