Steely Dan

Steely Dan, formed by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, blended rock, jazz, R&B, Latin, and blues with sophisticated studio production and cryptic lyrics. Their debut, Can't Buy a Thrill (1972), set the tone for their career, peaking with the hit album Aja (1977). After disbanding in 1981, Becker and Fagen pursued solo projects, reuniting in 1993 to tour and release new albums, including Two Against Nature (2000), which won a Grammy Award. Following Becker's death in 2017, Fagen continued the band as its sole member. Steely Dan has sold over 40 million records and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
