The album Culture received a massive boost by the success of “Bad and Boujee,” and has since seen “T-Shirt” and the Gucci Mane-aided “Slippery” gain steam as legitimate mainstream hits. The group’s style of call-and-response ad-libs reminiscent of ’50s era doo-wop groups have both innovated and redefined how melody is used in hip-hop across the board.
