Upon opening in 1982, 103 West is often known as the third founding restaurant of Buckhead Life Restaurant Group. 30 years and 12 internationally renowned restaurants later, the name Pano Karatassos rings synonymous with upscale Atlanta dining of every flavor.
Pano Karatassos did not set out to build a dynasty. Yet, starting with a passion for food, a pioneering spirit, and a now-famous hideaway in the heart of Old Buckhead, he would launch the company – and culinary renaissance – that put Atlanta’s restaurant scene on the map. The constant demand for the lower level private event ballroom caused a shift in focus at 103 West. In turn 103 West renovated in 2001 to create Atlanta’s first premiere special events venue, located in the charming residential district of Buckhead just down West Paces Ferry Road from the Governor’s mansion. 103 West has withstood the honor as Atlanta’s most impressive full-service event facilities for the past thirteen years, hosting over 600 events annually ranging from business meetings, to educational luncheons, to holiday cocktail receptions, to elegant wedding receptions as well as countless special occasions.
Located in a two story free standing building, there are five private rooms ranging in size from our 20 person Club Room to our 300 guest Grand Ballroom. Each room was decorated by renowned architect Bill Johnson who set the stage for sophistication in design, featuring an elegant yet neutral color palate. The decor itself enhances the events with dazzling crystal chandeliers, vaulted 14 foot ceilings and beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Each ballroom is enhanced with a separate reception lounge consisting of a built in bar and custom banquet furniture. Our world class team of chefs and highly trained event planners help each individual guest coordinate their needs and excite their palates with customized menus. Focused specially on continental cuisine with a French flare, 103 West is known for taking events to the next level in culinary experience. Our signature items include a Roasted Mini New Zealand Lamb Chops butler passed during cocktail hour, to our signature entrée of Grilled Filet Mignon and Pano’s Signature Cold Water Lobster Tail and Chef Joseph’s extravagant grande dessert display.
