Festival Guide
Chomp & Stomp is one of Atlanta’s best-known neighborhood festivals, combining a chili cook-off, bluegrass and roots music, an artist market, and community fundraising in Cabbagetown. This wiki page now serves as a supporting archive and background page. For current festival dates, logistics, and guide information, use the main festival page above.
Festival Overview
Held each fall in historic Cabbagetown, Chomp & Stomp has grown from a neighborhood fundraiser into one of Atlanta’s signature fall festivals. The event is centered on chili tasting and competition, but it is also known for live music, local vendors, the Romp & Stomp 5K, and a strong neighborhood identity.
Unlike a general event landing page, this archive page focuses on context, history, and past Creative Loafing coverage rather than serving as the main current-year guide.
Festival History
Chomp & Stomp began in 2003 as a fundraiser supporting Cabbagetown’s parks and public spaces. Over time, it expanded into a major annual neighborhood tradition while keeping its volunteer-driven and community-first structure.
Proceeds support the Cabbagetown Initiative Community Development Corporation, which helps energize public spaces and improve Cabbagetown’s parks.
