Anyone who is fortunate enough to have witnessed a Sun City Girls live show can testify to the pure musical insanity the group unleashed on stage. But lost in all of that is the fact that Sir Richard Bishop is an amazing guitarist. His solo recordings are delightful documents of wildly deconstructed flamenco, Indian ragas, country pickin,’ and more, as evidenced by his latest offering, Tangier Sessions (Drag City). It’s safe to say that he can do anything he wants on the acoustic guitar, and with such an impressive repertoire, he has earned your time, attention, and respect.

Heavily involved with the Sublime Frequencies label, Robert Millis can be described as an ethnomusicologist as much as he can a musician. His work with the exploratory Golden Climax Twins is impressive in its own right, but for this tour he’s combining a guitar along with sound collage, field recordings, and maybe even some Indian tunes.

Rounding out the evening will be performances by Clay Rendering and Magicicada. How you say, ‘not to be missed?’
