Sure, most folks recognize DJ Jazzy Jeff as rapper/actor Will Smith's partner in crime, but real music heads know that Jeff is one of the architects of Philly's soul scene, and one of the top crate-digging-est turntable jocks in the world. And you've got a chance to see this living legend in action Saturday, July 27, at Jukebox, the Retro-Active Dance Party. As the event's name suggests, Jukebox is designed to be a celebration of divergent music, from hip-hop and dance classics to house, reggae, and more from the past (and, hell, maybe even a few choice cuts from the present as well). So come prepared to shake your pants like no one's watching.

Joining Jeff on this musical trek will be Atlanta's own DJ Kemit, an acclaimed producer and party rocker in his own right. As a matter of fact, Kemit will be doing double duty that day, appearing at Jukebox at night and Creative Loafing's own Rock 'n' Soul BBQ earlier that day. Our advice? Check him out at both soirees.

$18-$25. 10 p.m. 595 North Event Center, 595 North Ave.
