Voila! The video shoot for the Magic” remix was pretty much that”

Yesterday, Atlanta young gunner Future had a video shoot for the remix to his song “Magic,” featuring T.I., at one of Atlanta’s finer establishments, Magic City. Directed by Decatur Dan, the video shoot spanned 12 hours and attracted cameo appearances from established Atlanta heavyweights Khujo Goodie, Ludacris, Shawty Lo, Rocko, and Future’s cousin, Rico Wade of Organized Noize. It felt like a true passing of the torch.

I only made it out at night for the money shot — with Future and T.I. vibing on the roof of Magic City in front of a big ol’ swinging crane camera setup. Plenty of passersby on MARTA and Greyhound buses were craning their necks to sneak a peek. That was hours after the scenes inside the strip club had been shot, including one featuring two naked chicks dipped in head-to-toe dayglo body paint crawling and gyrating around Future while he spit his lines at the camera. One of the last setups of the night was a classic parking lot jam, complete with a ’75 Chevelle Malibu, sporting a matte black finish, doing enough doughnuts to cloud the whole lot in exhaust smoke.

?
During the last take of the night (or what they call the “martini” in the film biz), the heavens opened and showered the set with teeny, cold, stinging rain. T.I. was not having it — “In my educated, professional opinion,” he said, “you have about 15 seconds to get this shot” — and that was pretty much a wrap.
