Atlanta's Shawty Lo teams up with 50 Cent
Shawty Lo signs new deal with 50 Cent's G Unit music label.
Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo just announced in an interview with XXL magazine a $10 million deal with hip hop turned business mogul, 50 Cent's label G Unit. Shawty Lo, formerly of Atlanta's well known Laffy Taffy clan, D4L, reached an agreement with 50 after a seven hour meeting. The deal allows Shawty Lo to not only further work on his music, but he will also be able to develop D4L and sign new artists. Not the most predictable pair one would think, but Shawty Lo thinks that he's on a "winning team."
During the interview, he discusses the current stauts of the group that took Atlanta's snap music movement nationwide and had everyone shaking their laffy taffies, and he lets fans get an exclusive listen to his new single Talk of the Town. The west Atlanta Bankhead native explains the relationship that has developed with G Unit and 50 Cent. The grounds for this duo: "He came from the streets, like I came from the streets."
