The Pied Piper of Bankhead returns to the scene of the rhyme

If T.I. could rewind the clock to, oh say, 2003, it would probably look something like his new video for "I'm Flexin'." Shot on Bankhead, Tip cruises through flexing in his old-school — you know, a drop-top Chevy with the roof wide open — on the Motion Family-directed visual released over the weekend.
?
With so much behind him now — the tragic 2006 death of his friend Philant Johnson, the 2007 pre-BET Hip Hop Awards arrest, federal gun conviction, two bids in fed. pen., loss of major endorsements and Hollywood projects, etc. — it's no wonder he's back to spitting Trap Muzik-era flows. That was Tip at his rawest, before the pop fame and resulting infamy, when he was still eager to prove he really was "the King."
?
Now that he's the Pied Piper of Bankhead again, with kids not cops trailing him in the video, it feels like a fresh start for him, his fans, even track producer/featured artist and video sidekick Big K.R.I.T., another Southern king in the making whose rise to prominence ran parallel with Tip's double bids.
?
But the highlight of the vid comes at the end when cameras catch T.I. breaking out in a little dance while surrounded by a gaggle of kids. No doubt, it feels good to be home.
