Sharp Notes April 04 2001

Smells like teen spirit. Handsome twins Evan & Jaron hop aboard the teen corporate gravy train as perfume company Chanel sponsors their current tour. At Chanel counters in seven select markets (not Atlanta), they’ll be giving away CD samplers of the comely duo. “From My Head to My Heart,” E&J’s new single, was the most added song in its first week at Top 40 radio. Get a whiff of the aromatic brothers at Music Midtown on May 6.

Baby love. By strange coincidence, former Atlanta-based LaFace Records moguls Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Antonio “L.A.” Reid both became fathers on March 26.

Diestra, who recently played in front of 10,000 attendees at Univision’s “Noche de Carnaval” festival in Miami, liked the city so much they’ve decided to permanently relocate there in April.

Kid stuff. Master P’s 11-year-old son Lil’ Romeo has hooked up with the ubiquitous Jermaine Dupri to produce the fifth-grader’s first album. Dupri’s golden touch already has helped the single, “My Baby,” become a chart topper in Washington, D.C., and New Orleans.
