Red Light green light. Bill Hoover, owner of Midtown music venue the Red Light Cafe, announces that the club will be up and running again by the time you read this. The joint had been forced to close for a number of weeks due to an electrical fire.

Get your schmooze on. The Atlanta Entertainment Association holds another of its “First Saturdays” events Sat., Dec. 1, at 11:30 a.m. in Manuel’s Tavern. The topic this time is “How to get your music heard and movies seen.” Guest speakers include entertainment attorney Marvin Arrington Jr. and Greg Tores, Georgia film commission director.

Silent night. Community radio station WRFG 89.3 FM hosts its ninth annual Silent Auction Sun., Dec. 2, at the Trolley Barn. Celebrities, artists and local businesses have donated more than 200 items, including CDs, jewelry, photographs and autographed books and posters. Proceeds go to keep WRFG up and running strong. Bidding is open 4-7 p.m.
