What disturbs you most about Atlanta?
Zira, Atlanta: I don't run around at the dog park at Piedmont Park because it's muddy and big dogs nearly kill me, so I run around at Piedmont Park without a leash because I love the wet grass. But I get nearly run over by bicyclists going a hundred miles an hour through the park. I think they should not be allowed to ride on the paths in the park. I'm named after the chimpanzee in Planet of the Apes, the one who sets everyone free. That's why I like being off the leash. Zira set all the animals free in the movie and I want to be free. A leash is constraining. The leash law needs to be loosened up.
Macy, Atlanta: A lack of dog-friendly places whether it's restaurants or going to the dry cleaners. In Belgium, you can go anywhere. Here, even with restaurants with outdoor seating, I have to be outside the patio area which is an inconvenience for my owner and stress on me. In Belgium, I can even go into clothing stores. If my owner is just grabbing a bite to eat outside, we should be allowed in. Starbucks allows me to be near my owner outside but that's the only place I've seen in Atlanta. I'm a part of my owner's life. I would like to spend more time with her.
Kasia, Atlanta: I live in a loft in downtown Atlanta and I can't walk down there without devouring some disgusting refuge, some gross food, garbage. I wished they would clean up the place because I would have less stomach aches. I eat a lot of grass to settle my stomach. Every day, right outside the house, there's McDonald's bags filled with half-eaten cheeseburgers and chicken wing bones thrown and no one ever cleans it up. It's really disgusting. There's also a lack of trash cans downtown. We live in a loft building and pay to have the street sweepers come. I've seen them once in two years.
