Gwinnett Blotter April 04 2001

An officer responded to a fight at a Domino’s Pizza on Ponce de Leon Avenue.

The general manager, a 21-year-old man, said he’d gotten into a verbal spat with one of his employees, a 31-year-old man who was described as having strong body odor.

The general manager stated that the 31-year-old “called him several motherfuckers during the argument and that he threw a pizza against the wall.”

The 31-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct and issued a criminal trespass warning.

A police officer was traveling on Pleasant Hill Road when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. He conducted a traffic stop and identified a 39-year-old woman as the driver.

While speaking with her, the officer noticed that her face was flushed and her eyes were bloodshot and watery. He could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath. When asked if she had been drinking, she said she had a date and took a sip of a mixed drink during dinner. Her speech was slurred.

The officer asked her to get out of the car. She got out of the car and was unsteady and had a difficult time walking. She failed the field sobriety test and the alco-sensor.

When she was told she was under arrest for DUI, she began to struggle and pull away as she was being handcuffed. She tried to grab her car door and began screaming, “I need a witness, he’s grabbing my tits!”

The officer told her to stop fighting, because he did not want to hurt her. The woman spun around and grabbed the front of the officer’s shirt, tearing it. The officer then contacted radio and asked for a back-up officer.

He used a wrist lock take down and directed the woman to the ground. She was handcuffed and transported to jail.

On the way, she began yelling that he was mean for arresting her. She said, “I’ll do anything you want if you let me go.” She then asked if he would like for her to sing a song. She said she would rather kill herself than go to jail.

While on patrol on Beaver Ruin Road, a police officer noticed a car drive out of a gas station parking lot and then stall out. He saw the driver making a failed attempt to start the car.

The officer notified radio of the traffic hazard and approached the car. He asked the driver if he was going to be able to get it started or if he needed a wrecker on the way. As the officer was talking with the driver, who was standing between his open car door and the car, the officer saw a blue pipe with burn marks on both ends sitting on the arm rest. He associated the pipe as a crack pipe due to the burn marks on the ends.

The officer showed the driver the crack pipe and made him aware that he knew what it was used for. The driver looked back and said, “Oh, you saw that, huh?”

The officer asked the driver how much crack he had smoked that day. The driver said a rock, earlier in the day, to relax. He said he did not have any crack in the car.

The officer searched the car and found a gold and silver wrapper crumpled up on the front seat and opened it to discover a white rock substance. The officer turned around and told the suspect he was under arrest for possession of crack cocaine. The suspect was transported to jail.

A 32-year-old Norcross woman told police that a man she knew had come to her apartment and knocked on the door and windows. She let the man know that she did not want him there.

He then pushed the door open and walked in. He then told the victim that he was going to slash her car tires, so that she can feel the way that he does.

The woman called 911 and the man left.

The woman told police that she had lived with the suspect years ago, but now he has no place to live so he has been harassing and intimidating her.

She said he wants to move back in with her.

A 31-year-old man said while he was at work, someone ransacked his two rooms in an apartment on Ruby H. Harper Boulevard.

There were large holes in each of the doors leading to the man’s rooms. Missing items included cassettes, CDs and about 30 Dragon Ball Z videos. Also, someone had poured beer on his bedroom floor.

The man suspects his wife’s five cousins, who still live there. The man said the cousins didn’t like him and he would take out warrants against him. The cousins denied involvement in the incident.
