Bar Review - AMC Fork & Screen Buckhead

Dinner and a movie

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: At AMC’s newly revamped “Fork & Screen” concept, formerly known as Buckhead Backlot, you can watch a select number of new releases with a beer in one hand and a burger in the other. Comfy, adjustable red leather seats at your choice of a counter or table with your very own call button for service make you feel like you’re in your living room – with a bunch of strangers and a waitress.

THE CONCESSION STAND: The new menu reads like that of a neighborhood joint, with lots of fried dishes using a Sweetwater 420 batter, homemade Vidalia onion rings and brownies using Belgian Callebaut chocolate topped with Haagen-Dazs coffee ice cream. There are also kids’ meals for $6.29. Sugary specialty drinks – such as mojitos and pomegranate martinis – and middling wines are available but most people opt for a pitcher of draft beer (domestic/$16.49 and premium/$21.49) including Sweetwater 420, Blue Moon and Budweiser.

EXTRAS: Weeknights are the best time to go, as tickets are only $5 versus the $10 on weekend nights, but you can also get in for $5 before 4 p.m. on weekends. Parking is free for up to three hours for theater patrons.
