Karma Cleanser - February 03 2005

Dear Karma Cleanser: If epiphany were a ride at Six Flags, would you get on it? Even if the sign that points out how tall you must be is just your exact height? On Jan. 1, a relative of mine walked into a bar in Atlanta and shot the barkeep dead in front of many witnesses - never to be arrested or stand trial for his actions. On June 19, I was involved in a serious car accident where I took a friend’s life while I was attempting to elude the police. Like my relative, I never stood trial for my actions. It just goes to show what money can do for a person.

At the time, I did not think about the karmic value that had just been applied to my life or was working on me. Now, I cannot separate the past’s impact on my future choices.

If you can place a value on a person’s fate, the karmic value of my fate would be something to bet on in Las Vegas. The coin incidences in my life against the Bellagio bank.

Do you have any suggestions?

Our first suggestion: Put down the crack pipe and take a good, long look at yourself. Your original letter, before our edits, was roughly the length of a cover story in this newspaper.

Much as the Karma Cleanser loves detail, please keep your crazed rants to yourself. Second: Your relative’s karma is his own. Leave him out of this. Finally, what was your question again?

Been bad? karma@creativeloafing.com.??
