News - A Midtown Building Blitz?

Residents of Atlanta City Councilwoman Anne Fauver’s district, which includes neighborhoods stretching from Candler Park to Morningside, attended a town hall meeting last week and raised concerns about development accompanying the proposed Belt Line project. On Tues., June 21, Belt Line consultants will address those concerns. The public’s input will be used in a redevelopment study by the Atlanta Development Authority. The Belt Line is a proposed 22-mile loop of light rail or trolley service that would circle the city and link dozens of intown neighborhoods. The project would include the construction of new parks, as well as new residential and commercial buildings. In Fauver’s district, residents are most concerned with proposed high-rise apartments that would overlook Piedmont Park.
