See & Do - Special event: Sugarloaf Craft Festival December 03 2008
Sun., Dec. 7
SUGARLOAF CRAFT FESTIVAL, a one-stop shop brimming with artsy and crafty wares, meanders from its New England roots to the ATL Fri.-Sun., DEC. 5-7. The handcrafted offerings concocted by more than 250 jury-selected artisans from across the nation include functional and decorative pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion and photography. While we can’t promise you’ll avoid a mall-inspired holiday feeding frenzy, visitors can expect the handmade wares to run the gamut from charmingly kitschy to appropriately bizarre to downright grisly. Indie crafters will be on hand to give demos in metalwork and pottery. Live music performances will feature traditional aboriginal instruments and music native to the Bolivian Andes Mountains. Free-$8. Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Cobb Galleria Centre, 2 Galleria Parkway. 800-210-9900. www.sugarloafcrafts.com.
