Atlanta Greek Festival 2008
It's time to fill up on spanakopita and ouzo at the ATLANTA GREEK FESTIVAL. This year's highlights include a generous spread of traditional Greek meals, dance performances and live Greek music. For a deeper look into the culture, there are educational lectures and historical documentaries for the scholarly inclined. New this year, Georgia Shakespeare will put on a sneak preview of selected scenes from its adaptation of Sophocles' ancient tragedy, Antigone – you know, the one where everyone kills themselves. Through Oct. 5. Free-$3. Thurs.-Sat., 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sun., noon-7 p.m. Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2500 Clairmont Road. 404-633-5870. www.atlantagreekfestival.org.
