On the morning of Jan. 16, Pink Pony strip club manager Eddie Stone was leaving work when he pulled his black Cadillac Escalade onto the shoulder of I-85 — and was shot in the abdomen by an occupant of another car that had pulled over, according to an Atlanta police report. Stone works for Galardi South Enterprises, which owns 11 strip clubs in the Southeast. In August 1998, Raymond Sean Malpica, a strip club manager for another Galardi club in Greenville, S.C., was machine-gunned to death while driving from Greenville to Marietta on I-85 to drop off money from the club. Below are excerpts from newspaper stories on the two shootings.</
“[Galardi Executive Vice President Dennis] Williams said Galardi was offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who shot Stone.”</

“Three and a half years after a Greenville strip club operator was gunned down and robbed as he drove along Interstate 85 in Anderson County, the case is still being actively pursued, although there are no fresh leads. [Sheriff Gene] Taylor said authorities have always believed there was either an underworld connection to the death or someone who knew of Malpica’s travel plans. Malpica, the manager of Diamonds, was going to Marietta, Ga., that Sunday morning, carrying the money from the club’s receipts. Paul Malpica [Raymond’s older brother] said he believes the death had something to do with his brother’s work.”</
