Dish, Dirt and Drivel - Mea culpa

Dish, Dirt and Drivel

Correction: Dish would like to apologize to Robi Sarkar and Wesley Phillips, the owners of the newly opened Village Pizza at 186 Carroll St. in Cabbagetown. Ria Pell, who owns Ria’s Bluebird Cafe, is not — as Dish incorrectly stated last week — the owner of the pizzeria. The restaurant is a culinary marriage between pizza pro Phillips, who has tossed pies at both Fellini’s and Grant Central East, and architect/developer Sarkar, who spent three years constructing the Carroll Street building that also houses three residential and commercial lofts. Phillips and Sarkar put a lot of work into the sleek-yet-casual restaurant, which in its first two weeks is reported to be dishing up some delicious New York-sized slices and pies — as well as offering bicycle delivery. Village Pizza’s formal grand opening will be in early November.

We can soon add Intermix, a NYC shopping staple since 1993, to the list of higher-end boutiques such as Barney’s CO-OP, Tory by TRB and Jimmy Choo that have recently set up shop in Phipps Plaza. With labels like Chloe, Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney and Catherine Malandrino filling the racks, Intermix will be a welcome addition to the Atlanta fashion scene.
