Academy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda and footless-hosiery peddler Sara Blakely were among the celebs at the Tabernacle last Thursday for a performance of The Vagina Monologues benefiting V-Day, a charity fighting violence against women.
Speaking of which, a group called Women Against Vernon's Violence protested outside Manuel's Tavern last Tuesday while DeKalb County CEO Vernon Jones was inside hinting that he'll run for Senate. Jones acknowledged the protesters, but denied their accusations that he abuses women.
And finally, the Braves opened their home season with a three-day stand against the Mets last weekend. Performing the national anthem before Saturday's game were Sasha & Shawna, a comely pop-opera duo marketed as Il Divo for straight guys.
