Now that the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has expanded the Best Picture nominees from five to ten, AMC® Theatre’s Annual Best Picture Showcase, which used to screen all the nominated Best Picture films in a single day*, has been expanded into a two-day event. Over the course of two consecutive Saturdays—February 19 and February 26—movie fans have the chance to watch all ten films on the big screen. (*Look after the jump for the hard-core 24-Hour Marathon option.)

Atlanta’s participating theatres include:

AMC® Phipps Plaza: Link
AMC® Fork & Screen Buckhead: Link

A hint for neophytes—go with the Fork & Screen as the dining options are significantly more robust than the nachos, pretzel bites, and three-week-old hot dogs available at the concession stand at the conventional theaters. (Is this why it is called a concession stand— because you concede that you are not eating actual food?)
