Braves look to do impossible: humanize Strasburg

  • Braves looking to prove that Strasburg, 21, despite his 100-mph fastball, is still just a kid

The Stephen Strasburg Tour hits Atlanta tonight as the young fire-baller looks to continue his absurd domination of "professional" baseball players.

Strasburg is 2-1 with a 1.78 ERA in his first four starts in the Big Leagues and has an astonishing 41:5 strikeout to walk ratio.

However, the teams that Strasburg has faced have a collective winning percentage of .411 (123-176) and he has faced just one team with a record better than 12 games below the .500 mark—the White Sox at 39-35.

So needless to say, facing the Braves (44-32) on the road will be the wunderkind's first true test.

The added pressure of having millions of eyes glued to their television sets plus the fortitude of the Atlanta lineup will combine to produce Strasburg's first pitching line that will remind us all that the kid, in all of his aptly-hyped dominance, is still human.

Predicted stat line for Strasburg against the Braves tonight:
ND, 5.2 innings, 3 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 7 K

The DUI and reckless driving charges levied against Braves starting pitcher Derek Lowe nearly a month ago were dropped on Thursday due to fame stature police error?

According to the story in yesterday's AJC, the arresting officer "jumped to a conclusion and made a lot of mistakes" during the April 28th arrest on Peachtree Road in Buckhead.

Lowe, who was driving his 2011 Porsche Panamera,...

As if digesting my own defecation wasn't degrading enough, I had to sit through yet another deflating end to yet another disappointing Atlanta Hawks season last night—making the whole poop-eating thing a little less depressing.

Despite snapping a 15-game losing streak in conference semifinal games and winning Game 1 of a second round playoff series for the first time since...
