Davis denied stay by Georgia supremes

Troy Davis will be put to death tonight

Word just came over that the state Supreme Court will not be stopping Troy Davis from being put to death in a little more than an hour.

The Supreme Court of Georgia today unanimously denied a stay of execution for Troy Anthony Davis.

Davis, 42, is scheduled to be put to death tonight at 7:00 p.m. by lethal injection at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, GA. The Court denied Davis’s Motion for Stay of Execution, as well as his request for the Court to hear another appeal.

If Davis is to be spared, it will come down to the U.S. Supreme Court.
