CL's new dining critic is ... Jennifer Zyman
Longtime food contributor steps into new role as critic
Last January - January! - we announced an open call for a restaurant critic. We received tons of applications from people all over the place. In the end, we didn't have to look very far to find the right voice. Today, I'm happy to announce that longtime Atlanta food writer and CL contributor Jennifer Zyman, aka the Blissful Glutton, will be writing monthly starred restaurant reviews for Creative Loafing. She'll also be blogging on the regular and will continue to contribute to special issues such as Best of Atlanta, the Food Issue, 100 Dishes, and more.
Jennifer was born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Atlanta by Mexican parents. She is a graduate of Emory University and California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and the founding editor of Eater Atlanta. She began contributing to CL in 2008 mainly covering the city's ethnic food and cheap eats, and has continued to write features, First Looks, and the very popular Glutton at Large column.
"With all of the revitalization Atlanta is undergoing, there is a lot of great food coming down the pipeline," she says. "I am extremely excited to watch Atlanta grow and proud to cover it for Creative Loafing."
We're proud to have her cover it for Creative Loafing as well.
