Elevate, the free public arts fest sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, kicked off its week of events on Fri., Oct. 17. And CL photographer Eric Cash documented the festivities, including the Gallery 72 opening, which featured an installation and live performance by Atlanta-based artist Branden Collins and a roving Fairlie-Poplar block party with sounds provided by the WolfPack.

The photo gallery also includes Sunday’s special dance performance, “Point of View on the Street Corner: The American Corner,” by Manifeste. We’ll be updating the photo gallery with freshness as the fest continues through Oct. 23 with collaborations from the likes of Dance Truck, the Fringe Festival, and such individual artists as Joanie Lemercier. Stay tuned.
