Occupy Atlanta redux?

??Protests have taken place throughout the county in response to two grand juries' decisions to not indict white police officers in the high-profile killings of unarmed black men in Ferguson, Mo., and Staten Island. Those rulings have led to the arrests of dozens of local demonstrators and the blockage of main roads, including the Downtown Connector.?
Now protesters will take a page from the playbook used by Occupy Atlanta three years ago. On Saturday night, a group known as the Atlanta Ferguson Solidarity Committee says it will hold a "mass indefinite occupation" of Woodruff Park.?
According to the group, the occupation will start at 7 p.m. They are encouraging protesters to bring tents, sleeping bags, and food. Here's more details from AFSC's website:???? Following the non-indictment of Officer Darren Wilson in the brutal murder of Michael Brown, and the non-indictment of officer Daniel Pantaleo in the filmed strangulation of Eric Garner, we are announcing a mass indefinite occupation of Woodruff Park this Saturday, December 6, at 7pm.? ??
We have been spat in the face. We know that others share this grief and rage with us. We are calling for everyone to join us in a mass experiment involving taking space, coordinating resources, and sharing ideas to continue the fight against this present disaster. The fight against police violence cannot be allowed to slowly wither away. For this reason, we think it is necessary to create a space for continuous organizing and we believe an occupation can provide this.? ??
We stand in solidarity with rebels in Ferguson, New York City, Mexico and everywhere else fighting against police violence.? ?
Woodruff Park closes at 11 p.m. We've sent a line to the mayor's office and Atlanta Police Department to see how strictly those hours will be enforced. We'll post an update when we hear back.?
