There will be words.

It goes without saying that few folks party as hard as writers. The Ernest Hemingways and Dorothy Parkers of the world would probably drink most of us under the table. So, what better way to celebrate the great marriage of prose and booze than Creative Loafing and Write Club Atlanta’s Fiction Contest Party Crush Brawl?

At the CLWCFCCB, you’ll meet the three winners (to be revealed when the issue hits stands) from the 2015 Fiction Contest, and they’ll be sharing their stories. (Technically, only First Place gets to read theirs in full, but hey.) On top of that, it wouldn’t be Write Club without some good ‘ol fashioned battling, so be prepared to see locals (including CL Operations Editor Ed Hall) duke it out for one night of literary supremacy.

Once again, the kind folks over at Highland Inn are letting us set up shop, and Ballast Point will be providing some brews. We may or may not be having a book sale, as well, but we’ll keep you posted.

CL/Write Club Atlanta Fiction Contest Crush Brawl. Free. Thurs., Jan. 8. Doors at 7 p.m. Highland Inn, 644 N. Highland Ave. N.E. 404-874-5756.
