Laughter can do a lot of things. It makes us happier, healthier, and more efficient communicators. ?? ?
It can also renovate old churches into permanent performance spaces for our favorite Theatre Companies. Well — it can raise money for that at least. ?? ?
This year, http://villagecomedy.com/the Village Theatreclatl.com/atlanta/the-village-theatre/Location?oid=1304688 will host the inaugural http://www.atlantaimprovfestival.com/Atlanta Improv Festival to benefit Dad’s Garage Theatre Company as they transition into a new location. The festival will last for three days, and include over 20 shows with all of our favorite names in local comedy: overlapping members from Whole World Theatre, the Basement Theatre, Automatic Improv, Laughing Matters, and Highwire Comedy Company will participate. Not only that, but guest performers will include Chicago’s comedy group 3033, Dan Fogler (comedian and actor from Balls of Fury and Good Luck Chuck), and a number of other groups coming everywhere from Tampa to Detroit. Matt Jones, who played Badger, the meth addict/sci- fan, in AMC’s "Breaking Bad," will be headlining alongside "Reno 911"’s Dave Hill. Dave Willis of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" will also give a guest appearance. And for those attendees who catch the funny bug during performances, comedy workshops will also be available and open to public. ?? ?
Basically, you don’t want to miss this. ?? ?
The festival will take place from Thurs., March 19 until Sun. March 21, at the Village Theatre. $10-$75 (for a *cough* good cause *cough*), and can be purchased here. ??
