Cosplay turn up and more

The Georgia World Congress center was home to an estimated 22,000 fans of gaming, anime, and the overall celebration of nerdiness.

For $65 over four days costumed and non-costumed fans flocked to dozens of events including celebrity autograph signings, informational panels and workshops, costume contests, and vendor showcases.

The panels and workshop topics ranged from “sewing leather." “starting/running a creative business," and, “So you want to start an anime club?” to “Portrayal of Women and people of color in media," "Self-defense," and “Designing a tabletop RPG”.

Special guests included Steve Downes, the voice of Master Chief in the Halo video game series, Mike Reiss, a show runner and producer for The Simpsons, and Mega Ran, a nerdcore hip hop artist.
