The official Dragon Con countdown begins!
? Many of us consider Labor Day as just another chance to get off work, but the four-day weekend can't come fast enough for fans of television, film, anime, comics, and pretty much anything pop culture. From Sep. 4 to Sep. 7, the 29th annual Dragon Con will be in full swing, providing fans with more than 3,000 hours of comics, film, television, costuming, art, music, and gaming.
?
? This year, Dragon Con is celebrating the stars of television and movies. Fans can expect to see actors from several popular broadcast network and cable shows including: Fox’s "Sleepy Hollow"; CW’s "Arrow"; HBO’s "Game of Thrones"; Syfy’s "Defiance"; ABC’s "Once Upon A Time," and FX’s "American Horror Story."
?
? Don't worry cinephiles, y'all are getting some love too. Peter Mayhew (aka Chewbacca) from the Star Wars trilogies will be at the convention. As will Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood from 2001 Space Odyssey. Academy-award nominated character actor Graham Greene, whose credits include Dances With Wolves, The Green Mile, and Maverick will also make an appearance
?
? And for the child in all of us, puppeteer Caroll Spinney, who recently retired after 45 years of performing Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on "Sesame Street" will also be in attendance. Spinney will be joined by several puppeteers behind other "Sesame Street" favorites. While we all love us some Big Bird, unfortunately the puppets themselves will not be at the convention.
?
? Ultimately, the star-studded celebrity guest list includes more than 400 actors, authors, and artists. “We’re very excited about this year’s guest list. We have attracted guests from some of the best shows on television today,” said convention co-chair Rachel Reeves in a comment.
?
? In order to accommodate the more than 65,000 people expected to attend, this year's Dragon Con will take place at AmericasMart Building #2 and across five host hotels – Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Marriott Marquis, Hilton Atlanta, Westin Peachtree, and Sheraton Atlanta.
