Everyone supposedly has an aura — a distinctive atmosphere that surrounds a person. It’s their vibe; the energy they put off.

Those of us interested in seeing our auras come to life will have a chance Sat., Feb. 13, and Sun., Feb. 14 ,when the Portland, Oregon-based mobile aura photography lab Radiant Human hosts a slew of pop-up sessions at Poncey-Highland’s Young Blood Boutique. “The camera works on the principle that we all have electricity in our body and that electricity radiates past our skin’s surface,” project creator Christina Lonsdale says.”This camera uses hand sensors that pick up this electricity and, through a proprietary algorithm, matches this electricity to a color, then that color comes out as a dual exposure.” For $35, guests receive a 15-minute photo session resulting in their own film snapshot of themselves surrounded by their colorful, glowing aura.

Sure, it could be classified as woo-woo and New Age-y, but so is getting your palm read and carrying a tiny crystal in your pocket and reading your horoscope, and if you enjoy those things, then we say: Keep doing you.
