Ed Loves Bacon - Actor Patrick Stewart up for Knighthood

that British actor Patrick Stewart who's commanded various royal titles on stage and screen will be given the title of 'Sir' soon.

According to the article, Stewart tops the list for Brits to be dubbed Knight from Queen Elizabeth later this year. Stewart, age 69,  is widely known in America as Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation and recently as Professor Charles Xavier from the X-Men movie series.  IMDB lists over one hundred acting, directing and producer credits for Stewart including Ebenezer Scrooge (A Christmas Carol), King Henry II (The Lion In Winter) and as Sejanus from the BBC's I, Claudius.

Knighthood is the highest honor bestowed in England. The award recognizes service and achievement in all fields of industry. Once knighted, men are called "sirs" while women are made dames.

Stewart currently can be heard and kinda seen as Chief Avery Bullock on Fox's animated comedy American Dad.
