Ed Loves Bacon - Atlantans make BET '21 to watch in 2010' list

As the year comes to a close, BET has released their list of people to keep your eye on next year. In their annual watch list, BET highlight Blacks who will make a big impact throughout the upcoming year. This year's candidates include, POTUS Barack Obama (of course), Tiger Woods, Ala. governor hopeful Artur Davis and Atlanta's Mayor-elect Kasim Reed, rapper T.I. and R&B artist, Usher. Here's how BET describes the A-town's picks:

Kasim Reed:

This young Dem is definitely going to be a leader in the political scene in 2010. The newly christened Mayor-elect of Atlanta not only had tons of celebrity support from the likes of Ludacris Bridges and Chaka Zulu, but he’s expected to bring hope and change to Atlanta like someone else we know who’s head of state.

Clifford Harris Jr. will officially be finished serving his one-year jail stint in March 2010, although he’s expected to be released to a halfway house by Christmas. If 2008’s “Paper Trail” is any indication of what the King of the South can do while on lockdown, than we can expect fire. Oh, and he’s set to star in the upcoming crime thriller, “Takers,” alongside Matt Dillon, Idris Elba and Chris Brown.

Why is a seasoned Grammy Award-winning singer on the list? Well this R&B crooner is fresh off a divorce from Tameka Foster, is smarting from the mediocre success (by his standards) of his last CD, “Here I Stand,” and is out to prove he’s still the current King of Hip-Hop and R&B. His 6th studio album, “Raymond v. Raymond,” will be released in early 2010.

T.I. was released from an Arkansas prison on Dec., 22 and currently finishing the remainder of his sentence in a halfway house near Atlanta. According to a tweet from his record exec Kevin Liles, T.I. is already back in the studios.

Reed will be sworn into office at his mayoral inauguration on Saturday, Jan. 2. Reed will officially take office the following Monday,  Jan. 4.
