Some people spend an entire lifetime waiting for a miracle. Others, need only cook a little lunch and bam! Grilled Cheesus appears before their eyes. Ok, so maybe that just happened in an episode of Glee — or if you know anyone with this contraption. But in 1994, Diane Duyser definitely saw the face of the Virgin Mary staring back at her from her grilled cheese sandwich. She stuck the sandwich in a plastic bag and threw it in the freezer for nine years before selling it on eBay for $28,000. And then there's Donna Lee who found Jesus while cooking pierogis on Palm Sunday in 2005. “The last one I flipped over was Jesus,” she says. “I flipped the spatula, and my husband goes, 'What? There’s Jesus!'"
Some people have all the luck. But now, thanks to the new Sightings app by Betabrand, you don't have to wait for an act of holiness to find Jesus in your frying pan. Sightings allows you to "transform everyday photos from dull to divine" by subtly slipping Jesus, the Virgin Mary, or Bigfoot into any photo on your iPhone. Hallelujah.
"There's no better way to declare tastiness," founder Chris Lindland said in an email to The Huffington Post, "than to inject a divine apparition into your casserole or cup of coffee."
For now, the app is only available on the iPhone. For Android users (and anyone who wants to see results, like, now) see below.
