Terrific dinner of massaman curry at Spoon in East Atlanta this week. And, of course, after dinner, I jetted across the parking lot to Morelli's Gourmet Ice Cream where I ordered a waffle cone stuffed with maple-bacon brittle and dulce de leche. The Peasant Bistro reports a new team of chefs. Shane Devereux, who was formerly there but moved to Top Flr and then the Lawrence, has returned as executive chef. Eric Brown, who worked with Devereux at the Lawrence, has been hired as chef de cuisine.
This is a talented duo and should make a big difference in the Peasant's cuisine. According to a news release, Devereux has simplified the French menu....

You and your family are fast asleep, but guess what? The cockroaches aren't! While homeowners snooze, the cockroaches come out of hiding, peeling away labels from cans and gnawing on them and whatever goodies they can find. Even the most impeccable housekeeper is not immune to a potential cockroach blight.
Lucky for you that Kudzu is offering a mass-murder of the bugs for $69. You'll pay more, however, if your cockroaches are German. Who knew cockroaches have different nationalities?
