• Cardamom Hill's Kerala fried chicken gets a lunch makeover

Chef Shane Devereux reports that, as a result of ongoing discontent with business partners, he's going on hiatus for at least a month. The chef/partner of the Lawrence and Peasant Bistro tells CL that he's headed to The Greyfield Inn at Cumberland Island to cook, "clear his head, and figure out his next move."

Kimball House, a project spearheaded by owners of the Brick Store Pub, is slated to open in spring 2013. The restaurant will be located in the historic Decatur Depot at 201 E. Howard St.

5th Street Ribs and Blues has closed. A sign posted on the Midtown restaurants door read, "Closed. Thanks for 9 great years. Gone to play golf."

Aspen Bartini, a new upscale tapas lounge, will soon take the place of the short-lived East Paces Tavern at 322 East Paces Ferry Road.

Cardamom Hill recently expanded its lunch menu to include new renditions of chef Asha Gomez' celebrated Kerala fried chicken. Diners can expect dishes like fried chicken and waffles with cayenne and cumin maple syrup and a Kerala fried chicken salad for lunch at Cardamom Hill.

Highland Tap (1026 N. Highland Ave.) is now open for brunch on Sundays beginning at 11 a.m., as well as lunch Tues.-Sat. from 11 a.m.

Sammiches N' Stuff, formerly located on the Decatur Square, has closed its doors.

Rumor has it that Concentrics Restaurants has a new concept in the works. Apparently slated for early 2013, further details for the new restaurant have yet to be released.
