Omnivore - Soft-shell crabs at Rain and Little Bangkok

One’s prettier, one’s better tasting

There are some dishes I could eat every day. One of them is fried soft-shell crabs, and I ran into two Thai versions last week - at Rain (above) and Little Bangkok (below). Both were served as appetizers.

Although the crabs themselves were equally well prepared, I preferred Little Bangkok’s version because of its mildly spicy curry sauce and “yum” salad. Rain certainly had the more dramatic version, with the crab stuck upright in a goblet, waving at me. There was the usual soy-based sauce on the side.
