Bar Meatball and its menu of trendy Italian eats opened in Virginia-Highland yesterday at 1044 Greenwood Avenue. Owners Joe Masi and Joey Federici replaced longstanding Pozole with the new concept, which offers beef, pork, and poultry meatballs along with sliders, salads, pasta, and more. Visually, expect vintage-style tilework, marble bar tops, exotic wood surfaces, and pretty pendant lamps.

The folks behind Little Five Points cantina Elmyr are getting one step closer to opening their new Kirkwood restaurant, Elmyriachi. Signage has gone up for the forthcoming Mexican bar and grill at 1950 Hosea L. Williams Drive. The space was previously occupied by Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits. Visitors can look forward to an expansive street-facing patio, as well.

Speaking of patios, the new Poncey-Highland Flip Burger will soon unveil its rooftop version two and a half years after its predecessor, HD1, first promised the sightseeing feature. The "edgy," open-air dining space will be prime for enjoying the Poncey-Highland restaurant's signature burgers, shakes, and sides while people-watching throughout the spring and summer seasons.

Urban Cannibals in East Atlanta Village reopened after a three-week, medical-related hiatus. Lunch and brunch are once again up for grabs at the 477 Flat Shoals Avenue bodega.

Jarrett Stieber's pop-up is back in session at the General Muir. Get a taste of Stieber's creative culinary prowess starting at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday through Friday, when you can try dishes like fried catfish, crispy tofu, and rutabaga soup (H/T to Eater), which will all be crafted by the Eat Me Speak Me founder himself.

A new Thai eatery called Drink Art debuted at 199 Walker Street in Castleberry Hill. It comes to us from super-tall chef/owner, former NBA champion, and 15-year Castleberry Hill resident Shannon Anderson. Despite its name, this eatery is not so much about the drinks or the art (yet) as it is about high-quality Thai food, which includes many vegan options and dishes such as pad kee mao and coconut soup.

Ratio Bakeshop has signed a lease for its new Decatur storefront, slated to open in May at 755 Commerce Drive. The concept from Chris Flores previously operated on a wholesale model, so this will be its first true brick-and-mortar retail store. Visitors will find treats like roasted white chocolate-and-strawberry scones, German chocolate cakes, chewy ciabatta, chocolate-glazed brioche doughnuts, tomato-pimiento cheese danishes, shrimp piroshkis, hazelnut fudge brownies, and more.

The space at 3345 Lenox Road that was occupied by Truffles Grill - until it shuttered in April 2013 - will soon be home to a new concept, Mod restaurant. A report from Tomorrow's News Today suggests that the new eatery will be a Japanese steakhouse from the Ichiban Dining Group - known for its sushi restaurants in Cumming, Alpharetta, and Brookhaven - and is slated to open by July in the bustling Buckhead neighborhood also home to Lenox Square.
