July is national ice cream month! Here are five places to celebrate in Atlanta and flavors to watch out for once you get there.

The Yogurt Tap, located in downtown Decatur, offers an alternative perspective on fro-yo by offering unusual flavor combinations. This summer, look out for honey orange zest, watermelon, and dairy-free almond butter.

Bar Eleven (inside the Loews Atlanta Hotel) has created a few ice cream cocktails this July, including the cookies and cream-inspired Anything but Cookie Cutter, the mint chocolate chip-esque Can You Take a Mint, and This is My Confection, a cocktail that tastes like a birthday cake cocktail.

Honeysuckle Gelato, offered throughout Atlanta in select locations such as certain Whole Foods, the Kroger on Peachtree in Brookhaven, and select restaurants. Flavors to look out for this summer include top selling sea-salt caramel and fresh mint chocolate chip. Honeysuckle’s mint flavor comes from freshly blended mint leaves which are combined with a milk base then layered in with bittersweet chocolate morsels.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams located in the Westside Provisions District has a tasty key lime pie frozen yogurt. You’ll also be able to check out the new Jeni’s location when it opens at Krog Street Market later this summer.

Vintage Custard opened its first brick-and-mortar location this summer. The creamery creates a variety of flavors, all emphasizing the importance of the topping. Check out strawberry cheesecake, Georgia peach, and caramel pretzel crunch for an experience that will take you back to the 50s.
