And so it begins. Krog Street Market’s first restaurant opening is upon us. The Luminary, chef Eli Kirshtein’s new French-American brasserie, will open for dinner Tues., Aug. 5, at 6 p.m.

Putting an American slant on a traditional French concept, The Luminary will boast menu items ranging from time-honored and classic, to progressive and creative. Diners can indulge in popular favorites like steak frites and croque monsieur, or opt for more adventurous selections such as roasted chicken hearts and chicken liver mousse.
The space is simple and sophisticated with wood furniture and leather fabrics. The centrally located raw bar ... with crisp, white subway tile walls and sparkling stainless steel is lit by a ceiling full of lights that gleam like pearls. And the main bar, set beneath 100-year-old trusses, features an expansive mirrored back-bar, bright brass accents and deep, dark granite.
