  • USE YOUR NOODLE: Storico Fresco Pasta to open an Italian market and restaurant in Buckhead



Atlanta’s pied piper of pasta, Michael Patrick is planning to open, Storico Fresco Alimentary, an Italian market and restaurant in the Buckhead Exchange shopping center at the corner of Peachtree Road and Grandview Ave. in Buckhead. Patrick plans to be open by October.

Sweet success. Pie Shop has opened its second Atlanta location at 1037 N. Highland Ave. in Virginia-Highland, next to Moe’s and Joe’s. The shop features over 100 different pies baked on the premises.


Recently unveiled plans for a 72,000-square-foot Organic Foods grocer at the corner of 14th and West Peachtree streets include a roughly 5,000-square-foot pub and 4,000-square-foot cooking school. Grocery delivery service Insta-Cart could operate out of the store, according to the plans. The design would also incorporate green walls and outdoor dining, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

By What Now, Atlanta's calculations, Jia, the traditional Sichuan eatery from Marietta's Tasty China is on track to be the first resto to open in Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall. Citing documents filed with the city, WNA is predicting that Jia will open by the end of June.

Fan favorite Aviva by Kameel, the "Mediterranean joint in the food hall at Peachtree Center where Yelpers rave about the lamb shawarma, rosemary chicken and eggplant ratatouille”, was voted the “Top place in metro Atlanta to eat," by Yelp.

Conor O'Reilly, previously a sous chef at the now-shuttered Woodfire Grill, has signed on as chef de cuisine at Tavernpointe, the forthcoming resto from Seven Lamps’ Drew van Leuvan and Grain’s Billy Streck. Slated to open this summer in the former LPC space on Peachtree Road, Tavernpointe will offer "elevated American cuisine in an intimate, casual atmosphere," according to a press release.
