JapanFest, now in its 30th year, typically draws crowds exceeding 20,000. Organized by JapanFest, Inc., JapanFest is designed to promote understanding between Japanese and Americans in the Southeast. JapanFest will feature a variety of Japanese musical performances, martial arts demonstrations, activites for children, as well as many other fun activities for all ages.

Sid the Science Kid: The Super-Duper Exhibit!

Imagine It! Children’s Museum - 275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive Atlanta, GA 30313 Free w/ museum admission. 10 a.m.

Children’s television hit “Sid the Science Kid” is coming to Atlanta, thanks to the Magic House and the Jim Henson Company. The interactive exhibit will allow kids to explore Sid’s world and fill the “science kid” role themselves with interactive exhibits exploring everything from the five senses to the laws of motion.

Atlanterium AV Festival

See (and hear) abstract art through a new perception with the final event of the Atlanterium AV Festival, a festival dedicated to providing a unique experience for audiovisual artists through nontraditional workspaces. Audiovisual artists explore and present their kinetic abstract art for two hours in a 20-foot dome at the Mammal Gallery.
