SEE and DO: Lizz Wright plays Variety Playhouse Sept. 22
The Georgia born R&B and contemporary jazz vocalist sings numbers from her latest album, 'Grace'
Georgia born and bred R&B and contemporary jazz vocalist Lizz Wright returns with a new album, titled Grace. For this latest release, Wright's husky and soulful voice wraps around a collection of rearranged covers handpicked by producer Joe Henry from sources as varied as Bob Dylan, Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. For this tour, she'll have a multi-media production of photographs taken on a recent road trip where she connected with family and strangers to "hear the true voice of the South." The show promises to be an immersive, expressive and moving experience as this classy and sophisticated singer connects songs with the images.
