First Slice 9/18/17: Donald Glover makes history

History-making: Last night, Donald Glover became the first black director to win an Emmy for Outstanding Directing on a Comedy Series for Atlanta.

Tragic: The student president of Pride Alliance at Georgia Tech was shot and killed by police Saturday night when the student, Scout Schultz, allegedly approached them with a knife. Schultz's family lawyer says the police overreacted. There will be a press conference later today, and a vigil on campus tonight.

Prime odds: Experts say Atlanta has a real shot of enticing Amazon to build its second headquarters here.

We can't keep up: There's a chance the U.S. may stay in the Paris climate agreement after all.
