As the last days of summer come to an end, what better way to savor a summer weekend that with a pig roast and rosé? Venkman’s is pulling out all the stops this Saturday, August 27.

For this Swine, Wine, and Sunshine party, Chef Nick Melvin procured a hog raised in Athens, GA and fed on Creature Comforts spent grain. He is roasting the hog overnight for all-you-can-eat pork tacos. Alongside the pork tacos, to be made with the diner’s choice of flour or corn tortillas, the Venkman’s kitchen is rolling out a bevy of sides: esquites salad, pickled pineapple salad, cabbage and chile escabeche, roasted poblano queso fundido, a variety of salsas, smoked guacamole and crispy tortilla chips.

Attendees will get three drink tickets, which they can use for glasses of rosé on tap, Creature Comforts on draft or Heaven Hill bourbon cocktails. Acoustic tunes will be played live by the duo How and Why during the event. The patio will have plenty of tailgating games too, from cornhole to ping-pong.

Tickets are limited and Swine, Wine, and Sunshine is from 2-5 p.m. They can be purchased at www.venkmans.com for $45 per person pre-sale or $49 at the door; all attendees must be 21 and over. Venkman’s is located at 740 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE. in Old Fourth Ward. 470-225-6162.
