SUNSHINE SOUL: The indie rock trio stops by Aisle 5 on Wed., June 6.

Since 2013 Brooklyn-natives Sunflower Bean have crafted modern psychedelic indie sounds rooted with classic rock. The group has been hard at work on its sophomore record Twentytwo in Blue (produced by Jacob Portrait and Matt Molnar), and is currently embarking on a tour across the U.S. and the U.K. The trio, featuring Julia Cumming (vocals/bass), Jacob Faber (drums), and Nick Kivlen (vocals/guitar), were all 22-years-old at the time of the record release, hence the album title. Debut record Human Ceremony is a youthful take on their career, written while all band members were in high school. The latest record reaches new heights, gravitating toward a more matured sound, exploring a variety of sonic textures, and delving into more progressive themes lyrically. Although the group is young, they continue to push onward into the indie rock music scene, captivating not only Atlanta, but the entire nation, and beyond.

With The Nude Party. $12-$15. Wed., June 6. 9 p.m. Aisle 5, 1123 Euclid Ave. www.aisle5atl.com.
