See & Do: Afrofunk takes over Aisle 5
Kaleta, Super Yamba Band, and more bring thunderous rhythms to L5P
Kaleta and Super Yamba Band play fun, energetic Afrobeat music in the tradition of Fela Kuti, whom guitarist/vocalist Kaleta performed with in the 1980s. Their live shows are known to be expressive vehicles for old-time groovin' and positive juju. Hometown Afro-funk provocateurs the Lightning Orchestra and Kebbi Williams' Wolfpack round out this thunderous bill.
With Lightning Orchestra, Saude, and Wolfpack ATL. $12. Thurs., Aug 2. 9 p.m. Aisle 5, 1123 Euclid Ave N.E. www.aisle5atl.com.
